Pakistan’s T20 franchise tournament Pakistan Super League (PSL) and Bangladesh’s BPL — these two tournaments will be played at the same time this time. The fight with the players there was supposed to continue. Most of the foreign star cricketers have already given their verdict in the PSL vs BPL based on which league they have chosen!
The two tournaments at the same time say that the star cricketers of Pakistan are not getting BPL this time. Now the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to release the ‘canceled’ cricketers in the PSL only for the BPL.
Very normal. It is no longer possible for the cricketers who got the team in PSL to play in BPL! The idea that Pakistan cricketers will leave the PSL for the BPL is also absurd. The decision of the PCB is not so surprising. The decision is that the PCB will not be an obstacle for the cricketers who do not get a team in the PSL to play in the BPL.
The Bangladesh Premier League will start on January 21. The PSL will start six days later, on January 26.
However, despite the new decision of the PCB, BPL fans are not happy. Only the cricketers who did not get a PSL team will be able to come to BPL, which means they are not the first row cricketers of Pakistan.
What is January 8? These players did not get a team in the first round of the draft, but the PSL franchises will be able to select two more players until January 7 to form a 20-man squad for the tournament.
Citing a Pakistani cricketer who did not want to be named, Pakistan cricket website Cricket Pakistan wrote that the players who did not get a Pakistan squad are now waiting for the January draft. Because, they are more interested in playing in PSL than BPL. However, the cricketers who did not get a team even after getting two new ones will think of coming to BPL, said the cricketer. Many such cricketers have offers to play in the BPL.
As per the report, Nafisa Kamal, the managing director of Comilla Victorians, has also confirmed that Moeen, Du Plessis, and Narine will represent the franchise in the next edition of the Bangladeshi T20 league. This is the reason why none of the three players registered their names for the seventh season of the Pakistan Super League. The three players made themselves unavailable ahead of the PSL draft that took place last Sunday in Karachi.
While Du Plessis has played for Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators in the past, Moeen Ali and Sunil Narine have represented Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars, respectively. Du Plessis is the only player amongst the three who has not played a single edition of the Bangladesh Premier League. Moeen and Narine, on the other hand, have played for Duronto Rajshahi and Dhaka Dynamites, respectively. Narine has even previously represented Comilla Victorians in the BPL, winning the league with the team in the 2015-16 season.
Ahmed Shehzad, Usman Shinwari, Zahid Mehmood, Mohammad Irfan, Sohail Khan and Junaid Khan are some of the well known names among the cricketers who have not got a team in PSL till now. The PSL players were drafted at the beginning of last month.
