RAB has arrested six members of a gang of brokers on charges of forcing young women into ‘immoral work’ by promising them jobs in Chittagong. They were arrested on Wednesday after conducting raids in different areas of the city.

According to RAB, young women from poor families from different parts of the country were brought to Chittagong to get jobs in garment factories. Later, a gang of brokers forced them into immoral activities by keeping them in rented houses without giving them jobs. On Tuesday, a young woman came out and informed the RAB about this information. Later, RAB raided various places in the city and arrested six members of the gang.

The arrested persons are Shahidul Islam, Mosharraf Hossain, Ruma Akter, Shahin Alam, Md. Sujan and Moyna Begum. Based on the information received from the accused, RAB raided a house in Saraipara area of ​​Pahartali police station and rescued four victims. Among them are three teenagers.

Lt. Col. MA Yusuf, commander of RAB-7, said that six people have been arrested, including the main culprit, for forcing women from different parts of the country to do ‘immoral acts’. RAB has filed a case with the city’s Double Mooring police station over the incident.
