Saudi Arabia has set an age limit for foreigners to perform the holy Umrah. Only those between the ages of 18 and 50 can go to Saudi Arabia to perform the holy Umrah.
Dubai-based Gulf News reported this on Friday.
Foreigners are also required to submit a two-dose coronavirus vaccine certificate before leaving for Saudi Arabia, the report said. According to the Saudi Ministry of Umrah and Hajj, a visa (electronic) must be obtained by submitting a certificate of vaccination approved by the Saudi government to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The new rules will remain in force until further notice.
The ministry has recently launched two apps, ‘Yatmarna’ and ‘Tawakkalna’, to provide Hajj services in Mecca and Medina. By joining it, foreigners are getting related services. Saudi citizens have to abide by this provision.
Saudi Arabia relaxed restrictions on performing Umrah and Hajj last month as coronavirus infections became more tolerable. This includes removing the social distance between the two holy mosques in Makkah and Medina, as well as allowing worshipers of equal capacity to enter. However, the rule of wearing a mask is still in force.
