Despite concerns around the world about the new coronavirus omicron type, the Saudi government has issued a new directive to continue conditional travel to Saudi Arabia. And that is, a single dose of the covid vaccine can enter Saudi Arabia from “all countries of the world.”

The Saudi interior ministry issued the new travel directive on Saturday.

a day after the Saudi government suspended flights from seven African countries amid fears of Omicron.

The ministry said in a statement that travelers would be allowed to enter Saudi Arabia from next Saturday if they received a single dose of the vaccine. However, they have to stay in quarantine for three days after entry. However, the new instructions did not say anything about the suspension of the flight.

Saudi Arabia suspended flights from South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Lesotho and Esoatini last Friday amid concerns over Omicron.

Omicron type of coronavirus was first identified in South Africa. Since then it has spread to several countries around the world. New species have recently been identified in the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and Australia.

The World Health Organization (WHO) on Friday listed Omicron, a new variant of the coronavirus identified in South Africa, as “alarming”. As a precautionary measure, many countries in Europe, America and Asia have already imposed travel bans on several African countries.
