As of Sept 1, Mainland China reported eight new cases of Covid-19, down from 10 a day earlier, Chinese national health authority said on Wednesday.
In a statement, the National Health Commission said all new Covid-19 cases were foreign infections involving overseas travellers, marking the 17th consecutive day with no local infections.
New asymptomatic cases have fallen to 19 from 34 a day earlier. China counts diseases with no signs as confirmed cases. In mainland China the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases now stands at 85,066, while the death toll remained unchanged at 4,634.
