Some features have been introduced in the free text to improve the professional skills of teachers for proper use of supportive lessons at primary level and management of weekly supplementary reading material (SRM). This new online training course will play an effective role in enhancing the skills of the students.

This information was given in a press release of A2I on Thursday. With the new feature created in the free text platform, teachers will be able to easily acquire library activity management techniques and skills.

Speaking at the inaugural function of the online course, Dewan Muhammad Humayun Kabir, Project Director, ATUI, said that ATUI and Room-to-Read Bangladesh are creating opportunities for teachers through training to transform and implement e-learning systems. Rakhi Sarkar, Country Director of Room-to-Read Bangladesh, highlighted the government’s support in launching the online training course.

The new course will be called “Library Management and Reading Hours”. Through this, the management skills of primary level libraries, the conduct of reading hours in the prescribed routine, and the use of qualified reading materials will be enhanced through the assessment of students’ reading skills. Besides, it will be possible to create awareness about the role of teachers in ensuring the involvement of family and society in the management of the library. Apart from this, not only the teachers but also the students selected from the 3rd to 5th class of the school will be able to take part in the management of the library through this course.
