The Government of India has banned the popular file sharing site. National security and public interest have been cited behind this. In this connection, the Department of Telecommunications has issued notices to companies providing internet services across the country.

Now popular websites will not be seen on the Internet. The Indian government has banned WeTransfer. According to the news, a notice has been issued to companies providing internet services. They have been asked to close the three URLs. In the first two notices, the order to close the URLs of two specific websites was given, while in the third notice, the WeTransfer website was asked to be banned completely. The Telecom Ministry, however, did not give any specific reason behind it and also did not tell what was its objection to the website.
