The late Eka Tjipta Widjaja has founded Sinar Mas Group which is a conglomerate company having multiple businesses of different sectors in 1962. Sinar Mas Group is one of the largest companies in Indonesia which operates in real estate, financial services, and telecom sectors. Accordingly, Eka Tjipta Widjaja has a net worth of approximately $8.6 billion which shows the sign of success he got into the various businesses.
Eka Tjipta Widjaja was born in Fujian and move to Indonesia with his family at the age of 7. When he turned 15, he started selling biscuits and candy on a bicycle which ignited the spirit of entrepreneurship in him, and in next decades he managed to build one of the largest conglomerate companies in Indonesia. Widjaja gets respect for his philanthropic work also because Sinar Mas Group still gives employment to more than 368000 people around Indonesia. Many businesses think that the way Widjaja managed his company is brilliant because within 2 decades he entered into different business sectors like real estate and telecom services and got major success in them.
