Mercedes-Benz launched the new GLS SUV in the Indian market. The new-generation Mercedes-Benz GLS has been launched in two variants (GLS 400d and GLS 450). Both variants are priced at Rs 99.90 lakh. The new GLS SUV is longer and wider than the older model. Also, its look is also different. The new Mercedes GLS SUV is based on the Modular High Architecture (MHA). Its length is 5207 mm, width 1999 mm, height 1823 mm and wheelbase 3135 mm. The new GLS SUV is 77mm longer and 22mm wider than the older model. Its wheelbase is also 60mm longer.
GLS 450 variant features a 3.0-liter, 6-cylinder petrol engine, which generates 367hp power and 500Nm torque. It is accompanied by a 48V mild-hybrid system, which gives additional 22hp power and 250Nm torque. The company claims that it can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 6.2 seconds. The GLS 400d variant is powered by a 3-liter 6-cylinder diesel engine, which generates 330hp power and 700Nm torque. Mercedes claims that the new GLS SUV with a diesel engine accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 6.3 seconds. Talking about the gearbox, both of its engines are equipped with a 9-speed automatic transmission and come with an all-wheel drive system.
