According to a recent study done on COVID-19 patients, it has been found that this deadly virus can also affect many parts of the body. Studies have shown that it can infect the intestines, kidneys and many other organs of the body. Findings from this study may also help explain some of the unexplained symptoms, including blood clots in coronavirus patients, that cause stroke in young people. Not only this, they are also responsible for headache and kidney failure.
Since there are cases of the spread of corono virus infection worldwide and governments are taking many extraordinary measures to limit its spread, there is still a lot of confusion as to what this virus actually does in people’s bodies. According to a study published in Nature Medicine, Ji Zhou and colleagues at the University of Hong Kong extended the intestinal organoids of both bats and people to lab dish versions of organs. They found that the virus not only lived in these organoids, but also replicated them.
At the same time, a team from University Medical Center Hamburg-Epporfen in Germany performed autopsy on 27 patients who died of Kovid-19. He wrote in a letter published in the New England Journal of Medicine, ‘SARS-CoV-2 was found in the kidneys of the patient, which causes more damage to specific organs of corono virus patients.’ Previous reports have reported that this deadly corona virus has adverse effects on the lungs, throat, heart, liver and brain of those who are infected with this virus.
