Honda Cars India has started pre-launch booking for the BS-6 diesel variants of its 10th generation Honda Civic. The company will start selling this car in July. Customers can also book this car sitting at home, as well as customers can book this car on the company’s authorized dealership network across the country. Let us tell you that the petrol version of Honda Civic was launched in India in March 2019. The Honda Civic is one of the most stylish sedans on Indian roads. In its petrol version, the Civic comes with a 1.8-liter i-VTEC petrol engine with CVT gearbox. This engine gives better mileage by reducing fuel consumption. The Civic’s diesel engine will be equipped with a 1.6-liter i-DTEC diesel turbo BS6 engine with a 6-speed manual transmission. Which will give better driving performance.
Talking about the current BS4 diesel engine Civic, it generates 120 bhp power and torque of 300 Nm, but it is believed that the power and torque of the engine coming with the BS6 engine can be seen. This car also gives the highest mileage of its segment, in one liter this car gives a mileage of 26.8 km. The price of BS4 diesel Civic starts at Rs 20.5 lakhs. The price of BS6 petrol variants Civic starts at Rs 17.93 lakhs.
The Honda Civic has a direct competition with the Hyundai Allantra, priced between Rs 15.89 lakh and Rs 20.39 lakh. The Allantra has a 2.0-liter BS6 petrol engine, which generates 152hp power and 192Nm torque. It comes with 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox options. For safety, it has features like 6-airbags, ABS + EBD, rear parking sensors, vehicle stability control and hill-start assist. The car has a new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
