Qualcomm has hinted that the 5 G iPhone may not launch in September after all. In its Q3 earnings report, the US-based chipmaker suggested there might be a delay for Apple ‘s 5 G iPhone lineup without specifying the name in the report. While reporting the forecast of upcoming events that will influence earnings for the next year, Qualcomm cited the “partial effect of the delay of the global 5 G flagship phone launch.” Now, this global 5 G flagship will be none other than the 5 G iPhone.
Because iPhone models are distributed internationally and in large quantities, sales would also have an effect on Qualcomm’s business-which is what the Q3 earnings report pointed at. Apple ‘s 5 G iPhone is said to have been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic and the disruption of the supply chain caused by it.
Apple’s iPhone 12 series has previously been confirmed to have 5 G network coverage, but its launch is something that, several sources have pointed out, could actually happen in September. While, Apple could be delaying the shipment of 2020 iPhone models by October or early November, as it did earlier with iPhone X and iPhone XR.
